Kane is the bad boy that we all love to hate. After his behaviour in Love Me…Without Regret, I know I for one thought he was truly irredeemable.
As with so many of Renee Kenedy’s books, I forgot that “and yet” factor.
In this case, “And yet,” picks up after Without Regret and takes us deep into Kane’s life-what there is of it. A man trying to get by, still smarting over the abandonment by his mother at a young age, paying for her treatment, trying to make things better for his “Little Sister” and, of course, still beating himself up for misreading the signals with Lizzy so badly.
Totally a suck you in, chew up your heart, and spit you back out back and that’s why we Love You… Renee
